Time for Clockwise

Clockwise Southampton - Mountbatten House

When we were approached by Castleforge to discuss their flexible workspace offering, Clockwise, we were absolutely blown away. We’d been watching the rise of Clockwise in the flexible workspace sector and were really loving their design led approach to their buildings.

Clockwise London - Wood Green

Since they launched in 2017, Clockwise’s focus has been on making their work environments have a positive impact for people, places and the planet – a focus that resonated with us massively as it is so aligned to our core values.  Like Rawside, sustainability is ingrained in their vision, values, culture and everyday actions.

With such a good match in values, it was time to explore our product offering to find furniture solutions that worked both functionally and aesthetically and that suited with their design vision. We collaborated with their design teams to push the boundaries on our standard products to create some unique pieces for them. It was an absolute joy for us working with a client who was so hands on and had such a keen eye for detail and design.

Ben, our designer who has been working with Clockwise on all of their projects gave us his view.

“Clockwise have been creating amazing workspaces which luckily, we’ve been able to be a part of. By receiving a brief from their designers I’ve been allowed to think creatively and produce concepts to propose as visuals or prototypes. Together we develop the concept, assigning finishes and working on smaller design features to bring a product to life and stand out from the rest. We have worked collaboratively across more than 3 new buildings now for a range of dedicated desking which I’m particularly proud of, it’s great to see our design fine-tuned to each space and evolve as a product – Looking forward to the next!”

Like Ben, we all love the dedicated desk and planters that we made for them. With each project there were slight variations to suit the design and space, but always specified in beautiful fabrics and surface finishes. Our ability to tailor a standard design and create a seemingly bespoke design worked perfectly for these products.

The interest they have shown in how we make things and in seeing the manufacturing process was brilliant – we’re always so happy when we have clients who want to meet our Makers – they are the beating heart of our business after all. It was also a pleasure to be able to show in the flesh our commitment to sustainability in our new manufacturing facility – it has been such a turning point for us as a business and been invaluable in our progression towards being net zero. We also got the opportunity to share some sneak peaks into our future roadmap of products and materials.

Oliver from Castleforge had this to add:

“Over several years of collaboration, a great synergy is evident in approach and values. We aim for a building specific approach to each Clockwise location, responding to the architecture and needs to the local market. Rawside’s can-do attitude and ability to develop and deliver custom designs has enabled us to ensure our ability to provide the right workspace solutions for our members.

With some great new spaces opening soon, Clockwise’ success and ability to deliver a great offering continues to go from strength to strength and we’re so proud that we’ve been part of this journey.
