WOOD (TIMBER)
Wood, or timber, is a versatile and durable material that offers a natural and timeless aesthetic. It provides a solid foundation for furniture, combining strength with a warm and inviting appearance. This makes it ideal for structural applications and pieces where durability and weight are important factors.
Wood is a renewable resource that can be sustainably harvested and managed, contributing to a more environmentally friendly approach to furniture design.

DESKTOP LINOLEUM
We love ‘lino’ as it’s made from 97% raw material, 72% rapidly renewable, 27.5% recycled content and carbon-neutral.
Unlike many products used to top desks, Lino is biodegradable and is made from linseed oil and paper dust. Our Lino is also available in a range of stylish colours to suit your space while showing off sustainably.

STEEL
Steel furniture offers a blend of strength, durability, and modern aesthetics. Its robust structure makes it ideal for pieces that require heavy-duty support. Its minimalist appearance complements contemporary and industrial design styles.
It can be finished with various coatings, including powder coating, chrome, or brushed stainless steel, to achieve different looks. Steel furniture is recyclable, contributing to a more sustainable approach to designing furniture.

VENEER
Veneer is aesthetically pleasing alternative to solid wood, offering the same luxurious look without the associated expense.
Using veneer allows preservation of precious hardwood resources, as it maximises the yield from each tree and reduces the demand for solid wood. Veneer production contributes to the conservation of natural resources while still providing an elegant finish for furniture.

Medium Density Fibre board (MDF)
Sustainability is key in using MDF, as it incorporates recycled wood fibres and utilises fast-growing, renewable wood sources.
The manufacturing process minimises waste by utilising nearly all parts of the tree, reducing environmental impact. It’s valued for its uniform density, smooth surface, and consistent strength, making it an ideal material.

Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC)
Rawside MFC is CARB II compliant and approves as low formaldehyde.
Its made from 100% recovered wood, E1 compliant: up to 80% renewable materials, adjoined by 11% pre-consumer wood from waste flows from wood industry or thinned wood from sustainable forestry and verge management.
